Ava tries to raise perfect children using technology.
Ava clamps shock bracelets on her five-year-old twins, trusting the gadgets to separate truth from lies. Luna's band flashes red again and again, while Maya's glows an unbroken green. Convinced by the data, Ava locks Luna inside a refrigerator as punishment, and the girl dies of cold. Police later expose the bracelets as cheap novelties; Maya's unit was factory-set to stay green. The tragedy shatters everything Ava believed about control and truth.
